Heuchera ‘Peach Flambe’ PP# 17,195, featured by Garden Splendor®, is a sumptuous Terra Nova® introduction that blends spectacular and long lasting foliage color with the dependability and durability of these time tested native perennials, stirring up the most amazingly appealing garden creation we have come across in years.
Raised from a cross made by Janet Egger of Terra Nova Nurseries, this variety is a vigorous, yet compact growing, improvement over existing selections like Heuchera ‘Marmalade’ or its seed parent, Heuchera ‘Amber Waves’. The leaves are larger; less ruffled, and display a greater intensity of color.
The fabulous, season-long, and ever changing leaves emerge in spring as a "mirepoix" of creamy-mango, cantaloupe, and apricot shades.

As late spring passes to early summer, the dense, leafy clumps deepen to glowing hues of bright peach and amber. The mature leaves are garnished with flame-red veining, and when this is combined with the spikes of white flowers that are borne above the foliage in early to mid-summer, it ignites a special vibrancy to the stunning display. Summer brings softer and muted tones of rose, caramel, and bronze-green. The advancing late autumn and winter months round off the gardening year with tints of avocado and plum-purple that are delightfully enhanced when the rich purple undersides of the leaves are ruffled by gusts of wind and seasonal breezes, not to mention early morning frosts, as pictured here.

‘Peach Flambe’ is superb in beds and borders, raised beds, or foundation plantings. It is especially good in lightly shaded, woodland settings, or anywhere that high impact and low maintenance needs are a priority. When massed in bold groupings or included at the front of large beds and mixed plantings, the sweeps of radiant color is simply tremendous.
The neat, compact, mounding habit makes it ideal for edging or use in small sites, and we love it in container plantings, too. It looks great in window boxes, troughs, barrels, and virtually any type of pot and container. The tough, weather resilient leaves and all around durability help it stand up well to blustery winds and changes of temperature, and, because the period of display is so long, it provides marvelous "bang for the buck"! In mild areas, sheltered spots, and regions with reliable snow cover, ‘Peach Flambe’ is likely to remain evergreen, making it an even more valuable garden addition.
Although recommended for shadier locations, we have been impressed by its ability to withstand full sun. In our "sun bake" trials, where we tested it in containers set on concrete in Full Sun, it outperformed most of the other Coral Bell cultivars tested.

Flower Color: White shades
Foliage Color: Medium green shades, changing to apricot and then purple
Sun Tolerance: Full sun to Partial Shade
Preferred Soil Type: Well-drained, moisture retentive (humus enriched), and reasonably fertile soil
USDA Plant Hardiness: Zone 4
Plant Height: 7” (16” when flowering)
Plant Spread: 14”

‘Peach Flambe’ grows easily in any well-drained, moisture retentive (humus enriched), and reasonably fertile soil. Spent flowering stems should be removed to neaten the appearance, and it is a good idea to divide established plants every 3-4 years to maintain vigor.
For best results, we suggest amending the soil with extra organic material at planting time and applying a mulch to help conserve moisture during extended dry spells.
