Lychnis ‘Rolly's Favorite’ PP# 17,392, featured by Garden Splendor®, is a Future Plants® introduction from The Netherlands that is one of the most prolific flowering early season perennials we have ever had on trial. This little beauty is perfect just about anywhere that meets its growing needs.
It is wonderful in beds, borders, rock gardens, raised beds, foundation plantings, edgings, and in early season containers, too. It has an alluring, old fashioned charm that makes it ideal for use in cottage gardens and properties with traditional architectural styles. Its quick establishment, strong growth, prolific flowering characteristics as well as its ease of maintenance and all around durability make it invaluable in modern build sites, too.

Descended from a species (Lychnis flos-jovis) that thrives on rocky slopes in the western Alps, ‘Rolly's Favorite’ is an easy and reliable grower that performs consistently well in most soils, as long as they are well-drained.
In our trials, we have not observed any seed production, which leads us to suspect that it may be sterile, and therefore, may explain the extended and concentrated flowering period. While seed heads may not need removing, old flowering stems should be trimmed regularly to neaten the appearance. It is a good idea to divide established plants every 3-4 years to maintain vigor.
For best results, we suggest amending the soil with extra organic material at planting time and applying a mulch to help conserve moisture during extended dry spells.
